Female Genital Surgery
Dr Haertsch uses the ALTER technique for labiaplasty. He has taught of generation of local plastic surgeons this technique.
Labiaplasty
Labiaplasty is surgery of the labia majora or labia minora, the external folds of skin surrounding the structures of the vulva. Surgery is performed under a general anaesthetic and you are in hospital for the day only.
A labiaplasty can address labial damage that has occurred during childbirth, the elimination of pain and discomfort due to an enlarged labia or be undertaken to enhance aesthetic appearance.
After surgery you will be able to shower daily and attend to normal toileting. You will be advised not to have intercourse or use tampons for a period of one month.

Clitoral reduction for hypertrophy
Associate Professor Haertsch also deals with the problem of an enlarged clitoris and is happy to discuss the matter and show photographs of what can be achieved.
Vaginal tightening
Particularly as a result of childbirth, some women feel they could be a little tighter at the vaginal orifice. Associate Professor Haertsch will discuss what can be achieved and if surgery is appropriate.
Hymen reconstuction
For cultural reasons some women wish to have reconstruction of the hymen. Associate Professor Haertsch is happy to discuss the type of repair to be performed in each individual case.
